When it comes to cooking there are certain ingredients you can’t go without. Being able to grow these simple crops will change the way your food tastes. Like I am sure you have heard before, fresh is best, and nothing is fresher than home grown.

Garlic is probably one of the easiest crops to cultivate, it can even be done from store bough organic garlic. Just break the bulb apart and plant each clove individually in the early to mid fall (Depending on zone). Then harvest your bounty of garlic the following summer.

Salt and pepper, the most underused spice yet the most essential. Too much or too little salt and the dish is ruined. Not enough pepper and the dish just tastes incomplete. It’s with the perfect balance between both that the dish comes together.
